This policy explains how Cool Monkey Studios Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses personal information when you visit coolmonkeystudios.com, sign up for game news, or contact us. We only collect what we genuinely need.

2. Buying web services through our storefront

We resell domains, hosting and other web services provided by GoDaddy. When you search for, buy or manage these products, you do so on a storefront and customer account area operated by GoDaddy. Your account details, billing address and payment information are entered on GoDaddy’s systems, not ours, and GoDaddy is responsible for that information under its own privacy policy, which is shown on the storefront.

As a reseller, we may be able to see limited details about your account, such as your name, email address and the products you hold, so that we can help you if you contact us for support. We never see or store your full payment card details.

3. Information we collect

• Game launch sign-ups. If you join a launch list, such as the one for Underground Evolution, we collect your email address, your first name if you choose to give it, and a record of your consent.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
• Analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from. This involves cookies and information about your device and browser. See our Cookie Policy for details.
• Security and technical data. Our servers and security services automatically process your IP address and basic technical information about your visit to keep the site secure, block attacks and spam, and deliver pages quickly.

4. How we use your information and our legal basis

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we must have a lawful basis for using your personal information.

• Sending you launch and game news: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by emailing us.

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

7. How long we keep it

• Launch sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, or for up to two years after the game launches if we no longer need to contact you.
• Emails and support messages: for up to two years after our last contact, unless we need them longer for legal reasons.
• Analytics data: for no longer than 14 months.
• Security logs: for a short period, normally no longer than 90 days.

8. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete; ask us to delete your information; ask us to restrict how we use it; object to us using it based on our legitimate interests; ask us to transfer it to another organisation; and withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
